I picked up a batch of GBL A4's second hand, one of which I will use to complete my model of 4489.

Rough mockup. The tender is also a GBL item

To get the chassis sitting at an acceptable level, two screw mounts and a locator on the chassis had to be removed

Once all that was done; the body now sits at a more acceptable level

My attention then turned to aesthetics.

I removed the dreadful buffers and handrails.

I then filled the hole where the double chimney was, then fitted a new one. I think this example is a Hornby product.

I've been working on the B17/5 for the last few weeks on and off, so here's a quick run down of what I've been doing:

Tender lining. It's not quite right, but without a bow pen, I wasn't sure how else I could do the curve in the top corner

Handrails. Once again, not perfect, but it was the first time I've done handrails, so it'll do.

I've fitted some Kean Maygib buffers too.
