Thanks BB, I do hope so.

Thanks Graeme,

As you say the coat is quite thin, it was just an initial coat so I plan to do exactly as you suggest. I will be gutted if I have to resort to paint stripper.

I agree re paint. Sometimes its just marks where the thinner has dried quicker than the paint. I have had the same effect with the quick drying type sold by Precision.
I have found it normal disapears after a coat of varnish which blends the paint "together"

Although I haven't posted on this for a while steady progress has been made with the painting. I managed to remove the run and all the green is done along with a start on the black. I am taking it steady with this so i don't make a mess.

a couple of shot's of the cab to be going on with.

Excellent Rob! Just do all of the other styles of LNER pacific cab too, shrink the lot down to 4mm scale, and produce them as ready-assembled add-on modules for loco building and conversion, would you please?

I think it would be helpful if he lined it fully before he did that.

Good idea. All versions in all applicable liveries of course, with optional shades of colours to match Bachmann, Hornby, Precison and Railmatch shades.

Equally self-evident I therefore hope is the fact that I'll want all of the number-options ready-applied. I don't want to be messing around with fiddly little transfers you know......

Rob's quite clever with his hands.... could he knock up one of those James Bond type of thingies where you press a button and the number changes?

Well Gromit, Nick Park could certainly make it appear possible, although it would be nice if one of our number could do it rather than let the honours go to an outsider.

Well I have been steadily beavering away at it while the debate about splasher tops has been going on (I do appreciate everyone's input to that topic) and ultimately I have taken the decision to leave them black. So now I am at the point where I can begin lining the beast.

Lining will be a mixture of bow pen, transfers and fine brush, al la, Ian Rathbone (it won't be the same quality but following his principles).

Hi Rob,

The A3 looks great! 8) Although I must admit that I'm somewhat envious of you if you've got enough space to run an O Gauge A3!!!!!

Do you still do anything in the lesser scale?
