Agreed good news.

Andrew at Wizard is a regular on the 'northern exhibition' circuit.

G'Day Gents

Great news Dave's 'Mainly Trains' range and other products, I have sorely missed his site, since it shut down, his was such an easy site to navigate and with good service to Oz.

That is great news, I stocked up before he retired but I'm running low on some bits.
Glad nobody like Cooper Craft got it.

Terrific news indeed. I first ordered from Dave Cleal in 1982 and had orders from him every year until he ceased to operate. His catalogue was something I pawed over each time I got an update. My Dad even went and visited him at both Chandlers Ford and Watchet on trips back to the UK to get items for me. Dave is a great loss and we owe him a lot - his website was so easy to use in the latter years and his level of service was second to none. I once received an order within 7 days here in Adelaide, South Australia - and that included me sending the order by post in the first instance! Ah the good ol' days.

I hope the range of specific Mainly Trains products works out well with Andrew at Wizard although I have to say I struggle with his new website.

Mike Edge has done some etches for a Wath Daisy (S1). Construction can be seen starting here.

Ian MacDonald has announced an etched kit for the Thompson BZ. Details on RMWeb here:

https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index ... brake-van/

I understand the first batch are all spoken for, but there will be more if sufficient interest is expressed. I built his palbrick last year and it was as good an etched kit as I've ever put together.

Evenin' all

I picked up a Coffman clamp at the Epsom show a few weeks ago.

It has become one of my most useful tools.

I am now thinking of buying a second one to speed up building kits etc.

He has also done some CAD work for the Robinson 8K, which I'm very interested in, particularly for the chassis.

The V4 might make a reappearance, suitably corrected.

It gave me a chance to try this little gadget out:

Could I be rude and ask what the official name of that gadget is? is it commercially available?

Cheers, Paul.

Of course. It's a Coffman Clamp. I bought mine from Finney and Smith, now defunct, but I believe Branchlines sell them.
