Just when I raised the point recently (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11247) of the need for more Gresley teak suburban coaches, here we have them. I assure you I don't have a hot line to Margate.

R4516 and R4517 are listed as 'B' variants. Was there ever an 'A'?

There doesn't seem to be a variant of R4515.

Also we see the long awaited LNER green A4.

A green A4, yes, but only as part of an expensive 4 piece package. I don't envisage many people purchasing this just for the single loco'. Cheaper to do a repaint.

Just had a look on the hornby website seems you can add a Q6 and B12 to the list.

On the Queen of Scots set, I suspect the contents are written in the catalogue they have at the Warley show. I would love to know if anyone is there and can read it. I am in Canada so getting there is a little difficult. Tom

The Q6 looks to be pretty much ready to go into production too. If they can get it out of the factory before Chinese New Year (early Feb) this could be a first quarter release. Didn't see that coming, I had them down for a B16 or D20 as a possible first venture into NER designs.

Whatever, that's Hornby moving in the right direction for future model subjects. Plenty more very attractive and long neglected prototypes in the direction that came from. Here's hoping that it wins them the sales to confirm that it is the right direction.

The B12/3 is long overdue really as an up to date tooling for an old Triang model of the early 1960s.

Q6 - must have been under development long before DJ Models announced their Q6. Maybe DJ will do a J27 if they haven't got far yet with the Q6?

Having started a production run of the Q6. Hornby should consider producing the North Eastern wooden 21 ton hoppers as well as the already produced steel 21 tonners'.

I applaud your way of thinking and realise most people would be happier with a B16 but id love the full Edwardian splendour of the B13 and of course D20s, How many would you like sir. The Q6 is looking very good and I can just about justify one so on the phone to Modellers Mecca to get one reserved.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

I feel sorry for DJH being gazumped but that's life. I hope it does not discourage them too much and also that it does not put them off doing other LNER group prototypes. J36 please.

This Q6 looks a bit better than my old Nu cast version.

Hattons are selling the pack for £480. You might get dealers splitting the pack and selling the locos individually, just as they are doing with the silver A4s.

Had it been a Bugatti P2 in the collection it might have been a different proposition!
