He's from 'ull alright and you only have to read his book "Constructing and operating semaphore signals" in the mainline Modelling series to see that he is totally on top of his subject. His semaphore models are an inspiration.
The Stirling Q10 model made by Mick is a rightful tribute to these fine engines, they did great service on a hilly line. The Stirling lass "A" (LNER Q10) 0-8-0 heavy goods engine, was designed to haul 780 ton trains. They were built by The Yorkshire Engine Company and were originally fitted with Belpaire fireboxes.
Mick also co-authored a book with the late great Willie Yeadon on "An Illustrated History of Hull's Railways", anyone who has worked on a book with Willie has my vote.
