Bill Bedford Howlden coach kits
Hi Everyone
I've just received my D129 comp from Bill and have started to build it.
However, I don't have any information on numbering of these vehicles.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also for the D277 BT as I may get one of these as well.

Good morning all
Howlden carriages D129 and D277 are illustrated in Nick Campling's Historic Carriage Drawings Vol 1. He normally gives running numbers in his description of the carriages.
According to the few drawings that I have of GNR stock, they often changed numbers when they became part of the LNER.

Re: Bill Bedford Howlden coach kits
Thanks Bill and Earlswood
I think I must have been having a senior's moment when I wrote the request as I've got the book quoted by Earlswood. Maybe I've been so focussed on GN 6 wheelers I've lost track of what info I've got on other Howlden coaches, although I have just built a D&S D189.

Bill
One question - are there meant to be two sprues with brake shoes and rigging? I ask this because my D129 kit has only one such sprue and it appears to contain two sets of shoes and brake rigging (ie enough for one bogie) for OO and two sets for EM/P4.
If there are meant to be two such sprues I'll arrange for the extra one to be sent with a D277 BT kit I'm contemplating ordering.

Hi Everyone
Well I've finally got around to finishing the Bill Bedford D129 Comp.
Here it is, you might notice it has a hook and bar on one end and a Kadee on the other, that's so it can run on my home layout and also a proposed GN exhibition layout to be built by a friend.

Re: Bill Bedford Howlden coach kits
That seems to have turned out very nicely. Mixed couplings abound on Grantham, so if you ever get to visit for a play, a coach such as that would be right at home.
Does the roof await final fixing down? I was wondering based on the slight gap below the gutter. With that thought still in mind, as I glanced up at the ventilators and lamp tops, seen in crowded perspective at the near end of the coach roof, strange ideas flashed through my wandering mind, along the lines of "were those wind nuts on the roof" or "had Mickey Mouse had an accident". You can see how stupidly my train of thought runs at times...
