Parkside Dundas 7mm PS115 LNER Toad 'B'

Post by 65447 »

As was hinted after the Toad 'E' was produced a couple of years ago, the earlier version with wooden duckets and wider body planks is now advertised in the Gauge O Guild 'Guildex' supplement published today, 1st August. I anticipate that it will be identical in components to the Toad 'E' with alternate body sides, ends, veranda ends with high wooden stanchions and wooden duckets. Since the LNER built both types with narrow and wide planking, some Toad 'B' repairs had the pressed steel duckets substituted while some Toad 'E's also had high timber stanchions, there will be scope for further variations to be built and no doubt Parkside will sell the relevant mouldings for a reasonable price if asked nicely. For further inspiration see Peter Tatlow's 'LNER Wagons Volume 4B' p315 et seq.

In fact it would also be possible to construct the one-off concrete Brake Van.

The PD price is £42.95 plus £3.00 P&P with finescale wheelsets; Scale Seven and Coarse scale wheelsets are available in substitution at slightly extra cost. Now listed on the website: http://www.parksidedundas.co.uk/acatalo ... ILWAY.html

When I checked with Richard recently he said they hoped to have it ready for Guildex over the first weekend in September and it looks as if they will.
