Connoisseur 7mm Kits

Post by 65447 »

Jim has announced two new 7mm scale kits - an ex-GE F7 2-4-2T 'Crystal Palace' tank and the early timber LNER Bulk Grain Hopper, available last month (September): http://www.jimmcgeown.com/

I saw the grain van at Telford and Keighley, it's a superb looking kit.

I believe that the F7 is a re-issue of a kit that was available some time ago.

The F7 was out a few years ago - we've had one on Asenby for as long as I've been operating it.

In which case perhaps we might even see the J65, J66, J67, J69 and N7 kits return?

Here's hoping.

To be fair to Jim he does seem to be adding to the range regularly unlike some ranges that while good have been static for years.

Jim was at the Southwold Show over the weekend, with Robin from '2 Doors Down', and I had a good chat with him.

He showed me a test build of an ex-GE F3 that is getting close to production and hinted that he might re-issue his J65 - 'it's in the 5 year plan' was the best I could get on timescale. The F3 looked very nice and is of course very similar to an E4, nudge nudge wink wink, for which the J15 tender will do.

Jim will of course be at Guildex, Telford, early in September.

That's good news, I will have to call and have a chat with Jim. I have a set of parts for an F3 which is only missing the outer axle boxes for the radial axles. jim might sell me some if he get's his kit finished.
