Consett station

Post by ex85a »

Hi guys, I am currently planning a model(4mm) of Consett station and goods yard, however of all the pictures that I have found online, none show where the passenger ramp from the platform joins the Delves lane bridge, or the full signal gantry positioned just in front of the bridge, platform side. in fact any unpublished pictures would be a great. Can anyone help?

You may have already seen them but I've got a few photos of the station on my website here: http://southpelawjunction.co.uk/wp/?page_id=728 albeit none of them show the top of the passenger ramp. As it happens, I'm also considering a model of the station, my plan is to model South Pelaw Junction and I figured rather than having a traditional fiddle yard on the opposite side of the oval, I could model the station...

There is a photo here: http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/c/co ... ex33.shtml that shows the top of the ramp but I'm not sure that you'll be able to get much from it.

This may help with the signal: http://consett.org.uk/photos/_data/i/up ... 286-me.jpg

Thanks johndon, the pic of the signal I have seen before, but the ramp is a new one to me, but as you say difficult to make anything of it, would love to
see a pic of the entrance while it was still open. I regularly follow the South pelaw Junction site a great resource, and can't wait to see it operational.
