Wow looks incredible. I'd love too but won't live long enough to get my hands on it if my wife sees the bank statement!

I notice on the other side someone asking for a North Eastern liveried version of the car. That would require rather more than a livery change.

Luckily, Rails have thought of that. You only pay £50 quid for the deposit and the balance on delivery. If it takes as long to produce as the Stirling Single then the full cost will be spread over 2 statements up to 2 years apart. The second statement will arrive after the coach and by then the first statement will be history. Go on, you know you want to!

Wow, £125 for a dyno, I guess that means it has a micro USB port so you can plug in and download a comprehensive data readout of your loco's performance. I wonder if they've thought of that?????

that's actually not a bad idea for a little something fun, as well as a way to compare the performance of models.

unfortunately I can't program computers

Maybe we should suggest it to Rapido, it's just off-the-wall enough to appeal to them.

I am looking at this and hoping the pre-orders remain open long enough for me to persuade my wife it's a good idea (and that she forgets about the D11 and SECR H I have on pre-order as well)

Wifi would be more impressive - you download the data in real time :-)
I assume this is OO, so you might be able to squeeze a Raspi Zero in, or if not an Arduino. Could be a good project for the magazines - and not just the model railway ones...

The NER dynamo-meter car was used on the GE in June 1951 on the up and down East Anglian with 70006 Robert Burns and Class B1 61270. With the new Gresley ordered dynamo-meter car eventually being delivered in 1951, presumably the post war livery of the Rails vehicle would be correct for 1951, albeit it bit weathered?
