Judith Edge J63

Post by earlswood nob » Tue Dec 19, 2017 11:26 am

Good morning all

I notice that Judith Edge has released an etched kit of the J63.

I rather like small dock shunters, and I'm wondering what the kit is like?

I've never built an etched kit, so do not want anything dificult.

I'm looking forward to getting back to modelling, after spending time decorating, and hurting my back in the process. I also shouldn't have taken on the job of remastering a lot of my CD collection (2500+). The trouble is that I'm easily led by "good ideas" that surface when I'm imbibing at the local hostelry.

Compliments of the season to all

I see there's one on Ebay for £89.50.

I'm not sure they were that much direct from the maker when first released.
Bachmann A2 to A2/3: from my thread in Model Railways page 56 to 83, also

Hornby A3 to A1/1 Great Northern: from page 84, in resin from page 108.

Apologies for so many missing images - see page 1 for reasons & possible solution.

Is this the 7mm model that Garth Patrick produced under the GP Models label?

If so, Garth had a good reputation. I built two of his wagon kits and the intricate nickel silver chassis went together beautifully.
The bodies of those were resin which of course needed some bubble treatment - as all resin seems to require.

I'd also be interested to hear from anyone who's built this kit.

Good day all

I saw £60 plus postage. I would of course need wheels, motor and gearbox, which adds to the cost.

I did attempt to convert a LBSCR Terrier, but it only had the chassis wheelbase and boiler size in common.
