I like Revell too. Mainly because of the metal needle applicator. I'll get some next time I'm near a model shop.

The Hatton's image of Woodcock shows the top lamp iron a little ways down the smoke box door.
Am I right in thinking that is incorrect for the LNER livery and it should actually be mounted higher ?

Can you please tell me which tender Hornby have supplied with this model of Woodcock?
It should have bow ended tender I think for green livery. Their picture prior to release appeared to show a 1928 tender.

Yes Tom the top lamp iron is a little low.

Looking at Yeadon, the lamp iron appears to have been higher originally then moved lower at a later date, presumably at the same time as the valances were removed.

As per other comments it has a bow ended tender.

Whoops, they was only used by the Silver A4's.

Hornby have managed to fit the wrong Tender to a recent SR Pacific as well.

Two choices send it back or find a Corridor Tender . Not good choices either way.

As Woodcock has been given a bow ended corridor tender by Hornby that is correct. They were not only provided for the first 4 silver A4s. Some of the first blue A4s for the Coronation had newly built bow-ended tenders as did some of those that were painted green. If I remember correctly (I'm on holiday so don't have access to my usual sources) 4491 and 4492 of the Coronation series had bow-ended tenders as did green 4493 and 4494. I can't remember if any other green ones had that tender.

Yes my apologies , RCTS 2A says unique to the Silver Locos , then changes its mind further down the page and says 4491-7 had them with longer handrails, 4491 Australia had one ,no mention of the other Coronation A4's therein. 4493 -95 had Green Bow Tenders.

4492 was New Zealand which had one. Your numbers indicate there were 11 bow-ended tenders which was the number I had in my mind. Two of the others were those for the West Riding, ie 4495 Golden Fleece and 4496 Golden Shuttle both of which were blue. Can't remember the name of 4497 offhand.

The Doncaster Works Records website, http://www.doncasterworksrecords.org.uk/Part-30.html shows the 11 A4s first fitted with bow ended streamlined corridor tenders.
It also also shows when the the A4s changed their type of tender.
I am sure I learned about the site on here somewhere, it is very useful.
