TMC have commissioned Bachmann to produce a G5.

Several versions in NER, LNER and BR liveries. Expected 15/06/20.

No prices yet but pre-orders can be placed.

Oh joy of joy...a great little loco, no proper North Eastern layout should be without a couple......if only Bachmann
can deliver it sometime before 2030, still it gives time to save up. I was thinking of getting the LRM kit.

The NER seems to becoming popular.

I wonder if that gives me time to do the brass kit I have in the cupboard?

Knowing my pace, probably not.

Likewise. I have a Dave Alexander kit to build. Must press on if I'm going to beat 2020.

Good news indeed for NE modellers. Was to be expected given the new build project. I expect in due course we'll also see a J21 and J27 given the preserved examples.

Fantastic, hopefully I'll have got my finger out and built something for it to run on by then! Really happy they're doing an NER green livery too.

It does feel like the NER is on the roll now. But is there any sign of their key character items, the wooden coal hoppers, appearing RTR? (And when one is produced how long before there's an issue carrying a private owner livery?)

Two Scottish 0-6-0s now announced too. The entanglement of the LMS and LNER in Scotland makes the 812 as relevant as the J36 to the LNER interest in many locations.

Why is the above link obliterated with inverted commas? You can read the message and it's not offensive.

Coming from TMC, this means that we'll have to pay their prices or wait another few years for Bachmann to bring them out themselves.

I'm not seeing any "inverted commas" obliteration. Have you messed up / have missing fonts on your PC?

Or possibly a really ancient browser? (I don't think the forums use anything vaguely cutting edge in the stylesheet / HTML department)

G'Day Gents

Good to see TMC are getting into bespoke model locos (personally I don't need another :D )

As to the inverted commas, I'm getting them to, only over the last couple of days.............

Have also got several lines of inverted commas in Hatfield's post above and there are also several on Rob Pulham's J6 thread - not see them before???????

Thanks Manna and Woodcock, so it's not only me.

Richard
It happens on my latest versions of Chrome and Firefox but only in the last week or so. It can be seen here. It has also happened everywhere on the site where there's been a quote so it must be a fault with the site.

As someone interested in having an NER tank loco but by no means an expert on the NER, can anyone tell me what are the differences between the two NER liveried versions. When were coal rails installed, when was the Westinghouse pump introduced as an external feature? etc.

Thanks in advance.

Me too with regards to the inverted commas. I use Firefox rather than chrome.
