Scalefour North

Post by Graeme Leary »

This is an 'open letter' to the many of you who have been very helpful with my modelling queries on the forum over the past few years and who I wonder if you may be visiting, or manning any stands at Scalefour North which I shall be at 14th/15th April. (jasD17 kindly advised me of this show and I have arranged to meet him prior and also 'humourist' at the show but without taking up too much of your valuable time I'd be very keen to make contact with you if you are also attending).
I can be contacted through the forum but if acceptable my direct email address is graeme.leary@xtra.co.nz.
Many thanks

Have been thinking of going, if only to 'ambush' Mr Dunn of Coopercraft (assuming he is there himself). Some good stuff at the show.

I'm also drawn to the commemorative, let's hope Bachmann will produce 6165 Valour.

If he reads this then he probably won't be!

I intend to be there, day to be decided.
Most subjects, models and techniques covered in this thread are now listed in various categories on page1

Dec. 2018: Almost all images that disappeared from my own thread following loss of free remote hosting are now restored.

I hope to be there both days, with the LNER Society stand. Wobbliness permitting.

I look forward to seeing both Graeme's, and many others.

Ambush is probably a strong word, and I'd have to get in line, but it would be useful to see if/what new/existing products he has on him. His website claims he will be there, but c'est la vie.

In other news, hope you have an enjoyable weekend in Wakefield.

Hey Graeme. (L), do you reckon you could fit me into one of your suitcases ? The prospect of meeting some some of our forum colleagues is almost enough to get me on an aeroplane.

Be at Auckland airport Paul on Sunday 8th April 3pm and I'll 'escort' you but not sure about fitting you into a suitcase!

Not sure if Coopercraft will be at Scalefour North.

His website shows he will be there 12th and 13th April. The other exhibitions he lists are for 2014 and Scalefour North in 2014 as 12th and 13th.

Time to put the 6-shooters and bandit masks back in the cupboard unfortunately.

Haha, thanks Graeme. They'll let let me out for sure, getting back in maybe less likely. Hope the weather over there eases up or your going to get frozen.

Cheers

Yes, the Coopercraft website hasn't been updated for several years, more's the pity. They've been at the Nottingham show for the past few years, although I notice they're not listed this year...

The Scalefour North Show Guide (included in Scalefour News) shows Coopercraft as attending, but the online version now has the name crossed out. It is therefore reasonable to assume he won't be attending.

Having seen his stand at several shows last year I don't think he has enough stock to make it worth the expense of exhibiting.

On the RMweb thread it states the reasoning 'Please note two changes to the provisional list that was published in the Guide:
- Coopercraft did not return the confirmation of their attendance'

Bizarre behaviour really!

I'll be there on the Sunday.
