BBC link to London's East End in colour
The BBC have some lovely shots of the East End circa 1960-1980 including streets in Stepney, Whitechapel and Spitalfields - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-4 ... eed-object
Be gentle! Returning to the hobby after more than 20 years away...

G'Day Gents
Used to drive through the East End in the 70's and 80's quite a lot so they bring back some memories, love the 'old' cars.
What I wonder is, 'what' it looks like now !!

Nothing much to do with model railways but the 'Ripper' still cast a long shadow over the east end during the 1950s & 1960s.

Thanks for the link, very interesting, surprises me that a lot of the places in the pictures still survive.

PS, would still rather live in Oz.
