Recent Announcements

Post by Sniffer »

In light of recent announcements it's getting more difficult to comment on what won't be available in RTR form in the near future.

The G5 was the best news, but the J38 and N7 were equally exciting.

Is it too much to hope that we might get a C7 before long ?
Way out of my era of recognition, but it's the most iconic NER locomotive class to my mind.

Probably get a Thompson pacific before this happens but that would be nice too.

Arthur Kimber is developing a kit for a C7 loco, test builds have been shown on RM Web part completed.

Can I ask who has announced a model of a J38?

Not correct. I am developing an Atlantic 4-4-2 but it is the C6. It will be in both narrow and wide splasher format.

Hopefully it will appear late this year.

I'm glad I'm not the only one failing to spend enough time on the internet to know about these things. I tried to search last night but found nothing.

Details please.....

You can ask, but no such announcement has been made.

I suspect a misread of the J36 that Hornby have announced.

A mere typographical error in the original entry then, or a thinking error?

I have an acquaintance who repeatedly confuses the substantially different J36 and J37 classes when speaking....

Arthur I would be interested in a wide splasher version of the C6.

I see Oxford Rail's N7 now expected 4th quarter 2018 - a rather sparse year for LNER fans as regards new rtr.

Sincere apologies it was of course the J36 I was referencing.

Which is why in an earlier post I enquired about their temporary allocation to Driffield.

(Nice looking freight locomotive, I'm sure I'll add one to the roster.)

Doesn't feel sparse to me Ray. Stirling Single, Dynamometer car, J70, green A4, revised V2 and, if it's any good, the N7. My wallet's gone into hiding. :)

...KX loco allocated Ransomes and Rapier 45T crane, Thompson gangwayed coaches, GNR versions of the O2. Although how much of this arrives in 2018 is a complete lottery.

But the model railway operates nonetheless; I reckon that if all RTR production stopped tomorrow, I would still be having just as much fun operating for so long as life and energy remain.
