Hello Mick

There are no specifically newly-listed wagons this year but we still list dozens.

If you go to www.rmweb.co.uk you will see a banner headline about The Poll. Click where it says so and you will be able to view all the categories before voting.

If you need any further help or advice, please come back to me.

MGNR non-gangwayed and gangwayed stock? What a hopelessly vague category! Is it going to be clarified further? Old stock? Large Stock? Midland pattern 6 wheelers? GN pattern 6 wheelers? Cascaded bogie coaches to Midland, LNWR, GNR, GER, GCR or NER designs? The basic title doesn't give anybody more than the slightest idea of what they might be voting for.
Most subjects, models and techniques covered in this thread are now listed in various categories on page1

Dec. 2018: Almost all images that disappeared from my own thread following loss of free remote hosting are now restored.

Hello Atlantic 3279

We explain in the Q&A that we could easily list 30,000+ items, so we have to draw a line somewhere. There are more than 400 GWR coach diagrams and 250 LMS wagon diagrams alone before you even consider variations on the themes.

The Poll Team has worked hard over the years to gradually introduce new items that voters have suggested and this is one way. If the subject were to attract lots of votes, we would then look at how we might improve matters.

We listed the MGNR Class C 4-4-0 new in 2015. Its position in the results that year was 9th from bottom overall and 4th from bottom of the 61 items in the LNER Locos category.

In the 2016 results (the latest set) it has gone up slightly to 12th from bottom of the overall 717 items and 6th from bottom of the 64 items in the LNER Locos category.

The Poll Team does its utmost to present a balanced list year-on-year, but we know its one of those subjects where we can't please all of the people all of the time.

Hello again Atlantic 3279

I forgot to mention that we list a number of items each year to 'test the water'. The text from one such is as below.

Additionally, we list the Standard Gauge Industrial Locos 'generically' as the list would be vast. It is interesting to note that of the three types already announced, one was consistently High Polling and two were in The Top 50.

In the case of the ECJS below, if that attracted lots of votes, we would no doubt suggest to a suitable organisation that they take the matter forward to sort out which of the multitude of types would be best suited to modellers.

Hope that helps.

ECJS East Coast Joint Stock*
We do our best to not list coaching stock ‘generically’ but we have had a number of requests to list ECJS (and WCJS). We have listed both this year to ‘test the water’ but would advise voters that the vehicle choices lay within a ‘style minefield’ of lengths, wheel numbers, liveries, time-lines etc.
