A class 31 was definitely too heavy for the drops at Driffield, as was spectacularly proven one day in in the early 1980s :lol:

Here is an exception I believe. Presumably the construction of the drops determined what was allowable. This is at Barnard Castle Goods. I'm uncertain what happened after the demise of the J24 & J25 but the goods yard was often shunted by an Ivatt 2MT.
