Gresley A1's

I have gone blind trawling for info on the Gresley Pacifics, A1's in particular. Can anyone wise me up as to which ones ran with the LNER corridor tender, and when was the 'teardrop' dome introduced? I am in the process of re-naming/numbering some models, and like to be at least authentic in the basics.

Thanks, but I don't have copies of RCTS publications, and rather hoped that someone may be able to point me to a website. Doubtful my local Library has them, anyway.

I believe RCTS Vol 2A is still in print. As you can probably imagine, it is probably one of the most popular, so it has had a few reprintings and is readily available secondhand. Also the A1/A3 Gresley Pacific volume of Yeadon's is still in print (about GBP20/vol.). This is more of a reference work and will give you these (and other) modifications of every Gresley A1/A3.

I (and others) can look up specific locomotives, but if you've got a few then it is probably worth investing in one of them.

that is the tender with the fairing around the water filler etc
