One that struck out to me as being very good is this D16/3 at £55, having already owned one, it is worth a lot more than that.

Yup, one other D16/3 acquired the other day.
Also a couple of GWR ROD/04's, not that they will remain that way mind! B1 bodies please...

Thank you for that, I was tempted by the cheap ROD 2-8-0s as fodder for conversion to an O4/8. I presume there's nothing to prevent the ROD version being used rather than the LNER 04 version?

In some respects you're better off starting with a WR ROD rather than the O4 as the Bachmann ROD has a more accurate footplate shape, ie the side part is the correct length whereas they got it wrong on the O4.

I've acquired 3 of the RODs over the years two now running at O4/3s as the ROD has the correct cab roof for the O4/3.

In my note above I meant to say the wide part not side part!

Thanks; I think I read it as 'wide part' actually - anyway, I knew what you meant!

G'Day Gents

All your comments duly noted, a GWR (spit) 2-8-0 purchased, and will be returned to the 'correct' LNER version. :D
