Much much better than the D&S version, which was a real pain to build and poor detail compared to the Rapido version too !!

An outstanding example of the re-working of a near-miss RTR product to produce an outstanding and authentic model.

Given the cost and effort involved, I'm glad that I feel no need for such a vehicle.

When I commented I had not looked at the darkside pages, very impressive and shows what a near miss the model is, but how odd that the hinge got through the supposed quality checks.
You took a big gamble, well done.

Brilliant work as usual Mike.
One wonders why they got the cell box wrong, still it does improve the look of the model.
The metallic paint looks good who do you use ?, as I find Vallejo can be a bit lumpy, and that looks a better finish than I can get.

Next time you are in York you must take a pic of yours against the real thing.

Excellent work Mike. What a beauty. I did not invest in the Rails one as I have a Golden Age edition. I may yet succumb. Always been rather taken with your work teak-ing models and it really pays off.

The battery box issue is one which isn't immediately obvious - but once seen, cannot be unseen. Food for thought.
