3D design GNR 6w full brake

Post by mistahjim »

So I’m actually doing something worth posting, now that time isn’t as critical and other interests have taken a back seat.

For the un-initiated, 3D design kits are laser cut card and MDF, with 4 layers building up the sides and ends. This gives a neat way of building up surface detail like beading. The disadvantage is of course the card sides and the need to paint it. They include practice layers to practice alignment, and I’ve used these to practice painting. The colour is intentionally dark, but I’m open to feedback. The sides and ends are currently under construction.

Over on the dark side, Mike Trice did a very good in depth build on these carriages.

Most subjects, models and techniques covered in this thread are now listed in various categories on page1

Dec. 2018: Almost all images that disappeared from my own thread following loss of free remote hosting are now restored.

Thanks both, I’ll take a look. I don’t often venture over there unless I’ve a modern image question, and mostly now I’ll put it on the Facebook groups I’m a part of. Progress on 2 other LNER projects to follow as well.
