Please can you point me to the source of a decent 4mm version of the NERegion type of smokebox door that was common to B1 A8 D20 D49 classes (there may be more)
If I was to say the type that are not flat like on some B1s. More the fuller-looking ones that I can recall from 50s spotting days
I’m particularly keen to do-up a Hornby Shire if you can help with info that would be great
Thanks
Eric

Re: Smokebox Doors 4mm
Hi Eric,
On the basis of you improving a Shire, this may be of no use, but I believe Peters Spares do the Hornby spare smokebox door for a D49. I almost bought the handrails spare for my Q1 build, but relented as the grab-rail knobs were too long.
Paul.

Re: Smokebox Doors 4mm
Dave Bradwell does excellent castings. No idea if they would fit a D49.

See also 247 Developments, and possibly also the JE Detailing Parts range (ex-Jackson-Evans) available from Phoenix Precision Paints.
