The Willoughby Arms is a good thing.
Also featuring Dave and family members. Paul being a current East Coast driver and Steve another Jobling B-in-L. The Wrightist, picture-wise, is our host.

I know Sigmund Freud had various theories about trains, but I wasn't aware that 'brake hose envy' was one of them...

Belatedly picked up your photos John of the Bytham visit. Very handy so I don't accost any unsuspecting strangers while waiting for Dave in a week or 3! And if Bytham is in the building you've posted the shot of it looks very salubrious indeed. Or better still, as I'm sure it is the Willoughby Arms and if there is a layout along the lines of Bytham within, what a perfect combination - a pint and a 'play'.

I often wonder just how different our railway heritage would be in the fullest sense of preserved railways/locomotives had his books not come along. One of the true greats of our hobby.
