Re: Y9 tender truck
I have a picture in my collection of Y9 68102, dated 1952 at St Margarets.
At the edge of the picture you can just make out the end of the tender truck. Sorry do not have a number for the truck.
Regards

Re: Y9 tender truck
This very vehicle is illustrated - twice - on p100 of Yeadon's Register Volume 32. In the upper picture it is coupled to 10097, numbered 70522 and lettered 'Loco Dept South Leith'. In the lower picture it is coupled to 10090, numbered 770522 and lettered 'Loco Dept St Margarets'. It has also been modified such that the raised portion of the side - the bunker, presumably - is rather longer. Neither photo is dated.

Re: Y9 tender truck
Four pictures of Y9s with attached tender trucks at pp.88-89 of Harry Knox' excellent book on St Margarets. The shot of 10100 on pilot duty at North Leith reveals a truck number 270528, though the first digit is rather indistinct.

Re: Y9 tender truck
The drawing dates from the May 1929 edition of Model Railway News and it looks like the author was talking around making an O gauge model. The text does say that the colour was ED blue, but from some photos they look like they are heavily covered in coal dust. Didn't immediately link the two, there is an article on Caley Pugs in Model Rail February 2010 but the content covers Y9's, if anyone wants a pdf then send a PM. Some used 3 link coupling but a few had this removed and were permanently coupled to the tender?
