Mike has just sent through some photos of the chimney castings. They look excellent. Posted here with Mike’s kind permission.

I received the chimney from Mike last week but the good weather meant that outdoor jobs took precedence. However, some modelling time yesterday afternoon and evening, saw the final touches to added the loco. I am now going to sit and look at it for a few days before arranging painting with Warren. Just in case I spot something that I haven’t noticed…

Lovely modelling. Thank you.
I do like the idea of stopping to consider before painting.
My only problem is that I've stopped my latest rolling stock projects for about three months!

Never mind, wiring must be done!

Thanks Caroline,

I must confess that I am guilty of that too. It once took me four years to pluck up the courage to apply lining to a loco. This one is going to a professional painter, so I only need to reassemble and glaze it when it comes back.

Warren Haywood has finished painting the Great Central Railway Class 5A Dock tank. He sent me a couple of photos of what it looks like before it goes off to it's new owner.

It does look rather smart I have to say.

I sees your bid, and raises. Pretty enough in the bare metal, now fully finished, exquisite is the word.

I couldn't agree more, I have an ex GCR B2 in the stash, and I am very tempted to finish it in GCR livery having seen this.

Amazing how such a colour scheme just lifts a well made model to a different level.

Thanks for re posting Rob.

Definitely a lovely model Rob. It just needs an equally nice model of the older saddle tank version alongside it to show it off to full advantage.

I built this one for someone else and I must confess that mine is in scruffy LNER livery, but I agree a saddle tank version would be nice if I could get hold of a drawing at some point I may even have a go at scratch building one.
