D144 restaurant coach

Post by scratcher »

I've started on one of these using Bill Bedford sides on a Hornby donor, intending to be one of those built in 1931 for the GC section. I've completed grafting on of the sides, the underframe and the heavy duty bogies.

For the roof fittings, I found Mike Trice's PDF drawing on a 2012 thread for the D10C, and I wondered if Mike or anybody knew whether the D144 was significantly different?

Thank you Mike. I have bought your roof ventilators from Shapeways, they arrived yesterday. Very neat!

Mike, one question if you don't mind...

Did the long copper vent pipe for the warm water tanks finish at the end of the roof, or did it run down the end of the coach parallel with the toilet tank filler pipes?
