Has anybody attempted a conversion of the Bachmann C1 to represent any of the more unusual members of the class including the booster fitted 1419?

Nearly. I saw a s/h LBSC atlantic with a mangled cab at a good price, and thought I could 'repatriate' that, and make a Thompson rebuild with a B1 cab, cylinders and Walschaerts gear (harvested from long ago worn out split chassis mechanism models). But then common sense reasserted itself, with the thought of the absence of an O4/8, which was a real thing...
