Following on from my earlier post, it occurs to me that beyond the world of motive power there are certainly areas where we could expect new and improved products in years to come. Like for instance:
  • Ready-to-lay track and pointwork using phosphor bronze Bullhead profile rail carried in keyed chairs sitting on sleepers to correct British spacing.
Finescale UK pattern overhead line electrification equipment.
Operating, motorised finescale UK pattern semaphore signals with LED or fibre optic illumination.
Flush-glazing and illumination as a taken-for-granted standard on all coaching stock.
Flexible corridor connections on coaching stock so that daylight isn't visible between vehicles.
Runs of point rodding (I'm surprised Peco don't already offer this alongside their AWS magnet, 3rd rail components, etc.).
A reliable coupling system which is more discrete than the hook-and-bar variety and offers remote operation.
I'm sure there must be other things I haven't thought of. What would you add?

Hi,

The last four you mention are already catered for in 'O' Gauge. :D
