G'day Gents

As I said in a earlier post, I was tinkering with a Lima J50, after a bit more tinkering, I have a chassis that is worthy of a showing on this august site. There's still a way to go, but I'm getting there. The chassis has been stripped of it's motor, and had a new hole cut in the chassis to accommodate a cheap Mitsumi can motor (5 for a couple of quid), 20mm Romford wheels(.6mm undersize) Comet scale con rod fitted, so the wheelbase is spot on, once I get this running, a J6 body and tender will be built for it.

I for one agree with your sentiments, let J6's rule the world, but first onto a G1, the motor has been 'glued' on the chassis with silicone, and easy to place in the right spot, a bogie has been made out of brass, all I have to do now is put it all together, the chassis runs well.

Edited for spelling.

Looking good. Silicone is far easier to use than silicon.....

I now have a running O1, and with a coat of paint and some numbers (to high) I give you something, that probably never ran on the Edgware branch, but what the hell, rule one applies  there's still a way to go, steps, safety valves etc, but they'll get added soon.

Long time no post, but I haven't let the grass. etc. been renumbering some coaches, and generally mucking about with a few things going through my mind. One of them is this, a J57, I've lowered the cab roof, chimney and dome, a 'western' ? type safety valve, (the chimney won't be staying). for the chassis, well that's another thing, first I'll have to acquire some 16mm wheels, then I might have a go at a scratchbuilt chassis, but for the moment.......... rule one !!

Atso, I love J3's, there all different.

After a busy couple of weeks, laying pavors and painting a dentist's, I've been building a couple (3) GN tenders, the first one came off of the J1, didn't look right on the tender drive, I'll build another one, I've had to build a chassis, didn't take to long, the second was a scratch built for one of the J3's and the last one (sorry no pic.) for the O1.

Have almost finished one of the J3's, and fitted the correct tender, I built a Ivatt tender and it should have been a Stirling tender, so I did a swap, don't worry, I'll find a use for the Ivatt tender, J6 maybe.

Started another loco, (what's new) this time a .....well you guess.

Blimey Manna what a collection of locos you are building up, very nice.

Is it not time you tried some proper engines from Darlington :) .
