G'Day Gents

Still plugging on with ballast and scenery, but to make a bit of a distraction for myself and getting an old model finished, I bought the Sentinal railcar out of it's box, and had a good fiddle, wiring the motor up and building the undergubbins, the only big thing left is the steps, so the soldering iron has be bought inside, to make them, here's where we are at the moment.

If you want it to go round corners, Terry, stick the steps on the bogies not the body.

Wilco, JW, I'm lucky (?) as there are foot steps on the motor bogie that do line up with the door, but will fit the steps on the rear bogie.

That should add a nice bit of additional character to Edgeware.

Yes Graeme, I really like the way it's come out.

Still plugging on with the ballasting and a bit of scenery, here's a few pics.

G'day Gents

After a long layoff from posting, I'm back. I have been busy, ballasting has been finished, except for a couple of bits in the goods yard, teddy bear fur has been used again on the embankments, and trees and fences put in place, although very little except the teddy bear fur has been glued down, time enough for that.

So to stave off the boredom and the heat, another loco has been started, a E1, using some of the left overs from the C2 that didn't get made.

An E1..........this is also on the 'wanted' list in this house.

Is this a Hornby County chassis ? or have I misremembered....(it happens a lot)

Nice to see you back Manna! That E1 is already looking great - a nice unusual locomotive in model form!

Thanks for the comments, Yes it's a County class chassis, I also have some scale wheels around, I'm going to see if they'll fit, this engine will be 4070 (second last of the class) which had a extended smokebox and a larger cab, I'll finish it as an uncared for loco waiting for withdrawal.

The E1's were a Mixed traffic design, so should come in handy, I fitted the splashers last night, I'll try to get a couple of pics up today.

Looking good so far. If I ever find time to model some Doncaster locos that didn't survive into the 30s, the E classes will be high on the list.

That I would like to see. However, you'd better build your namesake first Mr King!
