the N gauge A2 as blue peter could get me to convert gauges, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Stainmore forever!
Re: Bachmann 2012
Great to see Bachmann extending the LNER range. Again the choice of the GCR locos was logical seeing as they already have a GCR tender in production. Shame we're not seeing any of the other LNER regions modelled this year but we've always got next year!
The J15 looks so much better having been painted in LNER livery!

Re: Bachmann 2012
Bachmann have done Blue Peter twice in OO gauge, and if you model O gauge I believe there is an A2 on the marketpaullad1984 wrote:the N gauge A2 as blue peter could get me to convert gauges, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

...and I have the bodyshell of it for a possible P4 project.paullad1984 wrote:I have a OO bachmann Blue Peter.
Re: Bachmann 2012
P4 in this case refers to the gauge of the track. P4 is more accurately (or should that read "accurately"?) spaced between the rails, and the width between the wheels on RTR stock has to be widened, either through new axles, drop in wheelsets or a new bespoke chassis altogether.blackout60800 wrote:Fictional build?Horsetan wrote:P4 project

That's a bit harsh... he does build things from time to time, you know.
Re: Bachmann 2012
Nope. It will serve as a mule for a P4 chassis (starting point is a set of frames from an old Crownline A2 kit). Hopefully it will last long enough until Dave Bradwell gets around to producing one of his all-singing, all-dancing chassis kits for the A2.blackout60800 wrote:Fictional build?Horsetan wrote:P4 project

Ah yes, I've seen those fold and slot in kits for the A3's and A4's. It only dawned upon me about the gauge after I posted

Honestly don't understand what that's about. I couldn't remember if P4 was exactly accurate to scale or not.

It's amazing how different an RTR OO loco can look with a P4 chassis

On the subject of J11s, there is a nice photo of one, 64320, shunting at Louth in the Jan 2012 edition of Railway Bylines.
