Built in Yorkshire? Surely the collective noun for these Hunslets is therefore a "Thrift".
Most subjects, models and techniques covered in this thread are now listed in various categories on page1

More Hunslets!

The Photo of Mech Navvies has been digitally doctored to show what the lettering may look like once I get transfers done.

Both locos operated deep in former North Eastern Railway territory!

Back to the Hunslets - I have now succeeded in sorting out the deep bufferbeam problem with the 50550 class and fitting tension lock couplers. A second 50550 was created over the weekend.
Note the inserts placed in the chassis (.080" plasticard) behind the buffer beams. The NEM couplings slot in to holes between the original chassis bottom and the insert and have to be shortened slightly.
Note also the smaller Terrier wheelsets and the removal of the injectors which on the 50550 were backhead ones.

Hi SJ,

Where do you go for your custom transfers? I'm getting some done at the moment but they're just white ones, I'm looking for some shaed gilt ones for GNRNPCS soon and I'm looking for recommendations for colour decals please.

Regards,

Vernon

I am currently making up a sheet of custom transfers to suit NCB and other Austerity liveries - a full sheet is A4 size to be cut up into individual items and there is room for quite a lot after my own requirements. If anybody wants something special doing in quantity (50 sets are the maximum) please send me a PM with what you might need!

Latest Hunslet to arrive - yet to be painted correctly. Now does anybody have advice out there how to cure or partially cure noisy J94s?

Latest J94 basket case arrived today - motor had obviously overheated and melted around the mount writing off the lower part of the body. I dare say that most of the rest is salvageable but I will need spare pickups (baseplate of rear ones damaged), a donor body and new motor to do anything, but the remains of the lower body and footplate may come in when I eventually get round to the RSH Ugly as parts can be used to extend an Austerity running plate! It looks as if somebody had over lubricated the loco, oil had got into the motor and the results were red hot!

It's amazing the state that some things get into in unknowledgable or unskilled hands!

Hi Saint Johnstoun

I have a J94 "Warrington" in WD green, body only, complete including footplate and buffers, all that is missing is the chimney, I do not need.

If interested PM me, perhaps we can do a swap.

Regards

Richard

Another adaptation of a readily available resin kit. The prototype worked close to the East Coast Main Line - Where?
