Outage this morning

There was a site outage this morning. The problem appears to have been due to a PHP version override which I had in place since 2020, suddenly not working. I've removed the override so the site is now using the provider's default (something more recent btw), and it looks okay. Let me know if you see any problems with the site - I would expect any problems to be with the forums rather than the static pages.

Turns out this was a wider problem with the server - my fix was only a temporary one that would last around a day.

I've been assured by my host that this issue has been finally fixed.

...and now they say it is a hardware issue! Site will be down tonight for about 10 minutes (probably around 3am UK time)

The hardware change didn't fix it, so yesterday they offered to move my account to a different server. This occurred last night. So far it looks like it is working...
