Re: King's Cross Goods Yard ramp line

Post by Tim Watson »

I am beginning to look at the ramp line behind Goods & Mineral SB, which has just been made. Further along, there had been an entrance to the Blundell St stables in the area to the north of Belle Isle and the coal yard may also have been horse shunted. I wonder if those bridge tracks were boarded - I suspect they might have been over the wrought iron bridges to allow horses an easy transit. Any thoughts? We have many photos of the SB and that part of the ramp but at a much later, post-horse date and after track removal.

More details of building works in the CF thread.
