My summer 1953 Scottish Region timetable also has the Q0fS details in the front Queen St depart 10 50, Waverley dep 12 00, Kings Cross arrive 7 50 (19 50) It shows the supplementary fares which I think were quite high 14/- (70p) Kings Cross - Glasgow, 12/6 (62 1/2 p) Kings Cross - Waverley

The return times were Depart Kings Cross 12 05, Edinburgh arrive 7 52, Queen St arrive 9 02 = 7 hr 43 mins to waverley

The Heart of Midlothian left Kins X at 2 00 arriving in Waverley at 9 39 = 7hr 39 mins and the Flying Scotsman took 7hrs 28 mins with only two stops Grantham and Newcastle

The winter 1959-60 ScR public timetable (valid 2/11/59 to 12/6/60) shows a Kings Cross arrival time of 8.5pm. The train didn't run on 25 & 26 December, 15, 16 & 18 April and 6 June.

Just found this thread.

I travelled on the Queen of Scots, on Saturday 16th June 1962, from Darlington to Kings Cross.

The Pullman Supplement was 7/6!

My wife & I remember it well, we were going on our honeymoon.
