don't forget that should you come accross the fabled original GCR drawings for the box design you want..... this is only the start. Your laser cutting chap will want it presented to him as 2d "flats" detailing every component you require to make the structure: this is an entirely different component list to that required to build the prototype. Personally speaking, working in P4, i'd look to a composite construction involving laser cut items such as bargeboards, stairs, landings, roof, etc, etched n/s or brass for window frames and 3d printing for the main timber structure. Going down to 2mm then I'd pay serious attention to 3d printing as the basis of something to detail.
