postcard

Post by jimbee »

hi there
I have been given a postcard and the picture shows a "doubledheader" pulling what seems to be a Royal train.
On the reverse of the card someone as written the following :62666 "ZEBRUGGE",62667 "SOMME" (UP SPECIAL) approching Birstall 11/9/55.
The year could be 55,or 35
Could you shed some light on this for me please.
Another thing worth mentioning I have in my possession a incomplete set of marking stamps but there is one stamp with the characters "LNER" on it,if anyone is interested in this item they are welcome to it.
By the way the stamps belonged to my late father in law who worked at the GEC WITTON in Birmingham for many years,if anyone can think of a connection please let me know.
regards

Jim Beetlestone
