Sheffield Neepsend loco diagram 1933

Post by GCBobby »

On 31 Jan 1933 the 10am ex-Marylebone to Bradford was involved in a collision at Loughborough. The Neepsend fireman Francis Tarron was killed when he jumped from the loco and driver Tom Webster and Loco Inspector Edward Hobson were injured but thankfully not seriously.
The Neepsend loco and crew had worked to Leicester earlier that day, turned the engine (5423 Sir Sam Fay) and took over the Down Bradford leaving at 12.06pm.
Can anyone help me with the Up working that took the Neepsend crew to Leicester please? Would it have been the 10am Bradford - Marylebone?

Thank you but no. I did quite a bit of research into the accident back in 2005 and wrote an account (now out of print) but I haven't been able to find the Up working that brought Driver Tom Webster, Fireman Francis Tarron and No.5423 to Leicester. The diagrams changed in 1938 with the introduction of Gresley Pacifics to the GC London services.
