Disused Station

Post by soupdragon »

Im not sure if anyone on this forum is a member of the 28DL site. Urban Explorers anyway, they root out old disused sites and take photos of them etc...

Barnard castle

The guy commenting on the signal box seems quite knowledgeable

This was a brilliant link, there was a lot of railway stuff on here with some really good photo's, however it looks like the Administrator has pulled the plug as recent attempts to log on bring up a message saying that the site has closed because of misuse. Pity

It is back up and running tonight in a streamlined form, you can look at the articles but can not post replies etc.
I would recommend that you visit it ASAP as I don't know how long it will be available.

Warning

Post by peejay »

Whilst the 28DL forum maybe virus free, the 28DL home page most certainly is not. Don't be curious like me :( Fortunately for me Sophos trapped and quarantined the infected file that arrived uninvited.

Thanks for the warning. I have visited this site a few times without trouble, but then again it only takes one little virus....
I suppose the anarchic nature of this site attracts trouble.

This site covers the same subject:
http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/

The parent site:
http://www.subbrit.org.uk/
includes some railway and quarry stuff.

BEWARE,don't try the link in the first posting.
I did, lots of 'Access denied' messages and IE locked up.On restarting AVG came up with a virus warning.
Looks like that whole site is now infected.

There were some interesting pictures on the 28days site, but don't go there.

Not flagged by Google as "…may harm your computer.", but with similar content:
http://www.derelictplaces.co.uk/

This site has also got some interesting pictures:
http://www.leverton.org/tunnels/
GNR etc. and Bennerley Viaduct, for instance.
