LNER carriage numbering

Post by narrowgauge »

Hello
Can anyone direct me towards a source of LNER carriage numbers in the 70XXX series and how they translate, if appropriate, to numbers previously allocated? My particular interest is the travelling post offices and, at the moment, No 2151 in particular but data on all of the TPOs would be helpful.

Many thanks.

I've managed to answer this from a copy of Michael Harris's Gresley Carriages and the 1953 GPO TPO carriage roster.
