Just looked at my list of drawings and apparently I have a copy of the Engineers line diagram for the Inglebys mill branch all 39 chain of it.
Will see if I can get a copy posted later.

I only have a casual interest in the LNER but was browsing the internet looking at information about Tadcaster railway station. I noticed that there was an interest in photographs of the station and as I have one of the goods yard looking east toward the centre of Tadcaster I thought you may like to see it.

Thanks for sharing the photo Loligo.
Anyone know what the nissen huts were for just beyond the railway? I remember there being a couple there in the early 1970s, but they did not last much after that. I know that the cricket club was beyond them - you had to walk between them to get to the cricket club after you walked through the old station yard (before the trading estate was built).

Pinza i learned to drive in one of those things JJR 981D. Which version is it.

Lol no idea! The photo (uncredited) is taken from a booklet called "OFF THE RAILS - Saving Railway Architecture" by "Save Britains Heritage" published in 1977.

Hi, The Nissen huts in the photograph of ths sidings were a camp for displaced persons, I think mainly from Eastern Europe
as a result of the Second World War although it may not have been built as such originally. There is a least one person now with a family in Tadcaster who started out in the camp.

Difficult; but to me, the grille (as far as can be made out) has the look of a Morris-badged vehicle.

Did the line go over that lovely viaduct you can see from the roadbridge in the town centre?If you call for a beer,i can recommend "Taddy Porter" from Sam Smiths.Proper drink!

the line to York.

I run the Tadcaster Archive which is a database in the Public Library of images collected by members or donated by the public. We have quite a few of the old station and its surroundings. These are free to view during library opening hours:-
Day Opening hours
Monday 2.00pm - 7.00pm
Tuesday 2.00pm - 5.00pm
Wednesday Closed
Thursday 9.00am - 2.00pm
Friday 2.00pm - 5.00pm
Saturday 9.00am - 1.00pm
Sunday Closed
I would much appreciate permission to download the image on here which shows the Nissen huts behind the station which did indeed house East European refugees during and after the war. Peter
