Hi ,I have just found this site while researching family history.i realise that these are old threads.hopefully this message may reach the person who was interested.

I can confirm that John Wilbert Collingwood was related to Eric Collingwood. They were half brothers.
Wilbert's( as my mam spoke of him)was the son of William Collingwood and Lavinia Thakwray who passed away in 1918.
Wilbert was there youngest son.

Eric was born to Williams second wife Jane in the late 1920s or early 30s
Not sure of how many years they lived at station cottages. However my grandad William passed away in 1953. They were definitely there before the outset of WW2 .
There were quite a few children at the time so not sure how they all fitted in!
I am certain Wilbert would have visited the cottage.
He was about 4 when Lavinia passed away.William married Jane in 1922 so she I assume that he was looked after by Jane until he left home.
I would be interested if anybody can say when the Collingwoods first lived there.
