Hawsker Station, Whitby

Does anyone know if refreshments were ever sold from Hawsker Station prior to its closure in 1965?
Users of the track between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay have expressed a need for the sale of drinks and light snacks at the station which is now the home of Trailways cycle Hire. It may help Keith's planning application if we can show that historically hot drinks were sold at the station.
Please help!

Definitely not. According to Ken Hoole's book "Railway Stations Of the North East" in 1922 Hawsker station sold 8982 tickets in a YEAR so it had nowhere near the passenger count to justify refreshments. The only station on the line which had a refreshment room was Robin Hood's Bay and I that one was private (not run by the railway company).
