Loco Head codes

Post by TonyM »

I am trying to get accurate details of LNER ex NER lamp head codes. I know that Express passenger is the 2 lamps over the buffers but the rest I find very confusing. Can somebody help me with codes or guide me to a webpage with details on lamp codes. I model in N but the trains still look better and more authentic with the correct headcode.

Head Codes

Surely Empty Coaching stock in my day carried class "c" headcode as it would be fully braked and capable of running at normal passenger speeds.

However if it was an non vacuum fitted loco then class "e" might apply
