Hi everyone.
I know this is a long-shot but I am researching events at our village station (Roade, Northants) and have come across the tragic death of Stationmaster Blamire Shaw in 1872.
If anyone has any information regarding this (or can put me in the right direction) I would be grateful if you would contact me.
Many thanks,
Ron Johnson

The usual source - railwaysarchive on the web - does not show anything.
It might be worth pointing out that the date stated was before the construction of the 'New Line' and so the station he was master of was, I believe, somewhat North of the one everyone remembers.
The LNWR Society might be a website to visit.
I do have (legit - I've got a receipt) a momento of the station; the London & Birmingham Railway bridge numberplate from the footbridge to recall spotting days in age of steam expresses.

There is a report of the death in the 13 January 1872 edition of the Northampton Mercury, which is available on line.
