ROY HART-DAVIS

I have a photograph of a competition winning LNER Ambulance team from Boston in 1929 (hopefully attached). One of the names on the photo is of R Hart-Davis who is described as Loco Superintendent at Boston.
I know that he worked at Doncaster for a while as this quote from a website dedicated to Sir Nigel indicates. After Sir Nigel's move to Kings Cross immediately after Grouping "his roll-top desk was inherited by Roy Hart-Davis, who, when transferred to Railway Executive Headquarters, stipulated that the desk go with him!"
Did Roy Hart-Davis start with the GNR?
Anyone have any ideas?
