Silvertown. John Mann

Post by Sally »

Hi looking for more info on John William Mann. Born 1876 Tottenham. 1901 still Tottenham, was a Railway Clerk. 1911 moved to Romford, Railway Clerk. I have a headshot photo of him dated 14th Dec 1938 that says LNER Magazine Silvertown on the back. Wondered if this was retirement. He bought a big house in Romford 1921 so also wondered if quite senior. I have another photo, group shot, all suited men - work group c 1910? (can you upload photos here?).
I also have a wooden rattle that was told as a child he used to use on the tracks (but also told it was a gas warning rattle). Would be grateful for any thoughts / info Thanks.
