George Buttress - LNER electrician, Cambridge

Post by elydock »

Hi all,

My great-grandfather George Buttress was a railway electrician based at Cambridge. As far as I'm aware he started with the GER before 1914 and retired from around the mid 1950s. He told us he spent much of his time working in Whitemoor Yard at March and also often at places such Kings Lynn and Hunstanton where he would work at the Great Eastern Hotel.

If anyone has any records or memories of him then I would love to hear from you.

elydock: I've deleted that reply and user. They were actually a spammer, although they took more than the usual care in coming up with a vaguely relevant answer!
