At the time would that be an A1 giving an A4 to an A4. 
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

There's the same photo in the latest Gresley Observer, house magazine of the Gresley Society. Evidently it's actually a wooden cigarette case surmounted by a silver model of an A4.
